Back on the Trail(er)

The roller-coaster ride and anxiety of last weekend is over. Although it is true that our trailer is heavier than we originally expected it’s not nearly as bad. It turns out that there was a clerical error and the weight that our dealership had posted online was off by 557 pounds. After a trailer is built at the factory, right after it comes off the assembly line it’s weighed, and a sticker is stuck to the door frame with that particular unit’s exact weight. I have officially looked at this sticker now and can confirm that our trailer is only 8,961 pounds meaning that we can proceed with our trailer that we ordered.

Although it’s only just the beginning of February it feels like it’s already March. My mind is already planning weeks ahead on all the logistics of getting this trip started in the next few weeks. There are over two dozen packages out there on the road with our names on them with various drinking water, electrical and sewage accessories that are essential for day one of living in an RV. Our cellular router arrived last week, and I have to have that fully configured to make sure that our work is not interrupted once we hit the road. Our apartment and possessions need to be divided between things that are going into storage and things that will be moving into our new RV home. We are officially taking possession of our trailer on the 14th of February which means we’ll be able to start transferring all of our belongings from our apartment to our trailer. It feels like every second of every day is full tilt but if everything goes to plan and falls into place in the next 23 days our life will be fully on wheels, and we can travel anywhere we desire on this vast continent.
